QLD Budget - June 2019
Inclusion Confusion

QLD Budget - Inclusion Confusion
Families: Our children face multiple barriers in our local schools - even getting enrolled! Often our teachers are not supported to make adjustments. We want our children to belong and be included in all aspects of school life.

Dept of Education: The system is on a journey. But we are spending $140 million on special school classrooms.

QCIE: A journey to where?

How does this continued lopsided investment help students or educators?
How do students exercise their right to an education which supports their belonging in the community?

80% of students with disability attend mainstream schools
20% of students with disability attend special schools
$136 million over 4 years to improve student-teacher ratios
$140 million for new special school classrooms

Working together to make inclusive education a reality for all.
