“We pledge our support to the goal and principles of inclusive education as a fundamental human right of every person, and the elimination of barriers and discrimination against children and young people with disability in education and in society as a whole.”
our purpose
To promote Inclusive Education:
- as our children’s right
- as best for ALL children
- as supported by evidence.
our goal
That all children learn, grow and play together at their mainstream school:
- every QLD child welcomed and attending their regular school
- actively participating in all aspects of school life
- with same age peers.
OUR history
In 2016, the long-term advocacy group Queensland Parents for People with Disability (QPPD) ended creating a gap in advocacy for children with disability. Following a workshop delivered by Anita Tang, a group of 15 parents got together to form QCIE in 2017. We have now hundreds of members accross Queensland, in metropolitan and regional areas, who have taken the pledge to support inclusive education for all.
